Dig of the Day: Anna Straker

Feel-good Thursday is definitely where we sit with the follow up single “How we are” by our next star Anna Straker.  This track acts at the follow up for her much loved debut “Late Night Swimming” which was released two months ago.

In a recent interview with 405 magazine she explained she wrote this song to inspire our generation. Keen to make her mark she’s determined to prove becoming a singer does not have to be a “pie in the sky” idea. Living the dream is there for the taking if you are prepared to work hard for it. Aged 19, she has already been a backing vocalist for John Newman and Rudimental for taking things into her own hands as a solo artist.

Give this a listen, be inspired and enjoy her fun offbeat production that will get you bopping along.

Dig of the Day: Emma Gatsby

Firstly, a massive thank you goes to Emma Gatsby for providing the boldest opener to a known to man, or should I say women! Within the first five seconds of her debut single “2 Steps” there is a ballsy comment about fuckboi’s before launching into a melody just ten seconds later.

Potential and character are currently sizzling away but just you wait this girl will be making crispy bacon style EPs before you can say “Rashers”!

Dig of the Day: Phantom Runners

Phantom Runners have teamed up with Brooke Bailey on their apt named debut track “First Time” which will feature of their upcoming collaborative album. This song is an 80’s R&B time capsule that will give you a good case of the butterflies.

Can you remember the “First Time” you fell for someone?

Dig of the Day: Mabel

Monday’s vibe is low key R&B with a twist of nostalgia, lent to us by our next star Mabel. Six months ago she tumbled onto the scene with her debut track “My Boy, My Town.” Gaining a warm welcome from industry lovers and fans, she has still gained a rightful spot on many of the 2016 “One to Watch” polls, alongside Alessia Cara, Anne Marie and Nao.

She’s now back to share her brand new video “Thinking of You.” An urban tale of love, this video shows Mabel daydreaming about her lover in various landmarks across London.

She is due to play at Notting Hill Arts Club later on this month, you have been warned, you could be seeing the next British Breakthrough Act for as little as £8.50!
