Granted a little late to make single of the week, I couldn’t bypass the opportunity to feature Ivan & Alyosha’s single Running For Cover. Critically acclaimed in the US this charming 4-piece band has now brought their sound to the UK.
Coming from the Washington state the band mixes classic American pop and indie folk together for a more contemporary feel. Generating a sense of unity the harmonies make for a solid debut and with a UK tour with Twin Fork (featuring Chris Carrabba, formally of Dashboard Confessional) scheduled for next month these guys are well worth a listen.

Following suit from Beyoncé, Avril Lavigne and The Civil Wars St Vincent aka Annie Clark is next in line to release an eponymous album. Challenging boundaries St Vincent leaves her sweet soulful pop voice behind for a ruthless and more psychedelic edge. The lead single Birth In Reverse begins with the soon to be infamous line “Oh what an ordinary day / Take out the garbage, masturbate.” Guitar heavy this electric banger is super catchy and beautifully crafted.
